The People panel in the VIP Dashboard provides visibility into the people who have been invited to an organization, their assigned roles, and their authority to make decisions on behalf of the organization. To review the people associated with an organization, their role, and status, select one of the displayed tabs: Platform Access, Invitations, or Primary Contacts.

Users can access a link to their Settings panel by either:

On VIP, an organization is an entity that consists of a business in contract with VIP, the applications owned by that business that are hosted on the VIP Platform, and the people selected by that business to have access to view and manage their applications.

Users have access to the VIP Dashboard after they have been invited to an organization with an assigned Org role. Invitations are created based on a user’s email address, and a user’s email address can be invited to the VIP Dashboard by more than one organization. Once a user has logged in to the VIP Dashboard with multi-factor authentication for that email address, they can switch their VIP Dashboard to any of the organizations to which they belong from the “My Organizations” view.

Logins to the VIP Dashboard can be authenticated with a GitHub user account, a WordPress.com user account, or with an existing Single Sign-On (SSO) configuration. Once logged in, a user’s ability to access and interact with areas of the VIP Dashboard is defined by the Org role or App role that is assigned to the user.

When viewing an application’s environment in the VIP Dashboard, the Overview panel provides a snapshot summary of settings and activity for that environment.

The Usage panel is a record of chargeable requests made to an organization‘s applications and an organization’s plan details. WordPress VIP measures an organization’s platform utilization with HTTP requests. An HTTP Request, also known as a web request, can be for HTML web pages, static resources such as images, JSON data sent by APIs, and more.

The VIP Dashboard is a portal for application management, and for users to interact with the WordPress and Node.js VIP Platform environments that belong to those applications.
