Performance Report

The Performance Report tab in Insights & Metrics provides a weekly performance health briefing for a VIP application environment. It surfaces an overall health score, a plain-English summary, a week-over-week breakdown of metric changes, compact KPI cards with trend sparklines, and a prioritized list of issues with diagnostic detail and direct links to the relevant section of the VIP Dashboard for investigation.

Navigating to the Performance Report

In dashboard.wpvip.com, select an application environment and open Performance > Insights & Metrics. Select the Performance Report tab. You can enable and disable the Performance Report in the top right corner.

Selecting a week

The Performance Report displays data for a seven-day window. Use the ‹ and › buttons to move backward or forward between weeks. The › button is disabled when the next window would extend past the current date — data is not available for future periods.

The week label shows the selected date range. The line beneath it shows the prior-week period used for all week-over-week comparisons on the page.

Health score

The health score summarizes the overall performance of an application environment as a numeric value from 0 to 100, labeled with one of five grades:

ScoreGrade
90-100Excellent
75-89Good
60-74Fair
40-59Poor
0-39Critical

A plain-English summary beneath the score describes the most significant factor driving the result for the selected week.

Note: The health score may not be available for all environments or time windows. When the score cannot be calculated, the other sections of the page remain available.

What changed this week

Example screenshot showing the “What changed this week” panel in the Performance Report tab.

This section groups key metrics into three categories based on their week-over-week change:

Improved — metrics that improved relative to the previous week

Worsened — metrics that regressed relative to the previous week

Unchanged — stable metrics worth monitoring for future changes

Each entry shows the metric name, current value, and percentage delta. Metrics are selected automatically based on their significance to overall application health.

Key metrics

The key metrics section shows KPI cards for the most important performance signals for the environment:

Object cache hit rate

Origin 5xx rate

Origin response time (p95)

Slow MySQL queries

Page cache hit rate

Each card shows the current value, the week-over-week delta with a direction indicator (↑ or ↓), and a sparkline of recent values. Select See all metrics to open the full HTTP metrics, Cache metrics, Database metrics, and Resource Usage metrics views with detailed charts.

Issues and Recommendations

Issues and recommendations lists performance problems detected during the selected week, ranked by severity. Each issue includes a category, a severity label, a diagnosis, and a recommended action.

Filtering issues

Use the filter buttons above the list to narrow by severity or category.

Severity: High, Medium, Low, Info

Category: Database, Cache, Deployments, Logs, HTTP, Plugins, Software

The count next to each filter label updates to reflect the number of matching issues.

Investigating an issue

Select an issue card to expand the full diagnosis and recommended action. Select Investigate → to navigate directly to the relevant section of the VIP Dashboard — for example, a Cache issue links to Cache metrics, a Database issue links to Database metrics, and an HTTP issue links to HTTP metrics. Issues in the Deployments, Logs, Plugins, and Software categories link to the corresponding sections of the VIP Dashboard.

Anomalies detected by the VIP Platform appear as issues in this list. For more information on how anomalies are detected and how to configure custom thresholds, see Performance metrics anomalies.

Troubleshooting

The Performance Report tab is not visible

Metrics access is required for the selected environment. Contact the VIP account team if access is not available for an account that should have it.

“Insights are temporarily unavailable”

Insights data could not be retrieved. Wait a few minutes and reload the page. If the issue persists, contact VIP Support.

The health score is not displayed

Health score data may not be available for all environments or time windows. The other sections of the page remain available when the score cannot be calculated.
