Locations of WordPress VIP’s network of edge cache servers span the globe to efficiently store and serve content closest to an end user.
To observe the global edge cache servers operating in real-time, refer to an interactive map of WordPress VIP’s data centers. Select then hover over areas of the map to access request data for the data centers represented by an abbreviations for the city of each location. The table provided below is a reference for all locations and their abbreviations.
Data center abbreviations also appear in the x-rq
response header value for requests made to a site hosted on the VIP Platform. For example, the response header x-rq: sjc5 123 242 443
indicates that the response was served by the data center in San Jose (sjc
), California in the United States.
