Manage user access for AI-powered features

After AI-powered features for the Parse.ly Content Helper (PCH) have been activated for a site, each feature can be selectively enabled or disabled, and access to each feature can be limited to a selected set of user roles.

Access

Prerequisite

Only users with an Administrator role or a Super Admin role can access the Parse.ly Settings panel.

  1. Log in to the WordPress Admin dashboard.
  2. Select Parse.ly from the sidebar menu.
  3. Select the subnavigation menu item labeled “Settings“.
  4. Select the tab labeled “Content Helper” to access the settings page for enablement and user permission settings for AI features in Parse.ly.

Enable or disable AI-powered features

All AI-powered features that a site has access to can be enabled or disabled as a group by selecting or deselecting a single option in the Settings panel.

In the content of the tab labeled “Content Helper”:

  1. Locate the feature option labeled “AI Features“.
  2. Deselect the checkbox to the right of the feature labeled “Enabled“.
  3. Select the button labeled “Save Changes“.

Enable or disable a feature

An Administrator can selectively enable or disable each of the AI-powered features that a site has access to. A checkbox for each AI-powered feature in the Settings panel can be selected or deselected to manage feature enablement.

In the content of the tab labeled “Content Helper”:

  1. Locate the name of the feature to configure (e.g., Smart Linking, Title Suggestions, Excerpt Suggestions, Traffic Boost).
  2. To the right of the feature’s name, select the checkbox labeled “Enabled” to enable the feature, or deselect the checkbox to disable.
  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for any other AI-powered feature(s) that requires an update to its enablement status.
  4. Select the button labeled “Save Changes“.

Grant access to a feature by user role

By default, only users who have an Administrator role will initially have access to each AI-powered feature. Administrators can grant permission for other user roles to have access to each feature. Access for all user roles that exist on a site that have permission to edit_posts—including custom user roles—can be managed within the Parse.ly Settings panel.

  1. Locate the name of the feature to configure (e.g., Smart Linking, Title Suggestions, Excerpt Suggestions, Traffic Boost).
  2. To the right of the feature’s name, under the checkbox labeled “Enabled“, eligible user roles are listed, each with a checkbox to their left. To grant permission for a user role to access the feature, select the checkbox to its left. Deselect the checkbox to remove access for a user role.
  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to manage access by user role for any other feature(s).
  4. Select the button labeled “Save Changes“.
