Applications and their environments
The WPVIP Platform supports WordPress single site, WordPress multisite, and Node.js applications.
Infrastructure
Additional layers of WPVIP’s infrastructure are in place to enhance the performance and security of your application environments.
Developing for WordPress applications
When writing custom code or adding third-party plugins and themes, WPVIP’s unique infrastructure might necessitate different considerations and approaches.
Developing for Node.js applications
All wpcomvip GitHub repositories created for Node.js applications are initialized with a copy of the vip-go-node-skeleton repository.
Local and cloud development
Developers can use the VIP Local Development Environment or GitHub Codespaces options provided by VIP to create a local environment that most closely replicates their WPVIP Platform WordPress environment.
GitHub branches and code deployments
Every WordPress and Node.js application on the VIP Platform is supplied with a GitHub repository within the wpcomvip GitHub organization.
Logs and performance monitoring
Access to several different types of logs and dashboards for performance monitoring are available to you throughout the development process.
Getting help
Several resources are available to help you find answers to your questions or to get help when you need it. The resource that will be most helpful depends on the type of information or help you need.
